What is the Best iPad Cooking App?
Posted on May 26th, 2010 No commentsMiguel Chester B Pitts asked:
As the iPad gaming world evolves, we will see more and more apps coming out that will very much benefit our daily lives. There is really no limit to what iPad developers can do with their directives from people with great ideas and strong innovation. One of the areas that will be expanding almost undoubtedly is the cooking niche within the iPad community. One of the best Cooking apps so far is called Epicurious.
Epicurious is one of the best cooking apps you can get on the iPad. It has almost everything you could ask for including over 28,000 recipes, with the number growing daily.
The interface is beautiful with the recipes neatly organized depending on main ingredient, health restrictions, nationality, what’s new, and more. The cookbook section of Epicurious is even easier to navigate on the larger iPad screen. You can have the recipe instructions displayed on the side while looking at the ingredients, photos, user reviews, and nutritional information. There is even a little bookmark so you can keep your place as you look at other sections.
Finding what you want in Epicurious is also a breeze. It has a search tool which allows you to find your next meal by keyword. On the sidebar you can simply click or un-click ingredients to filter the results further and match any dietary restrictions or keep the choices narrowed to just the ingredients you have in the house.
Epicurious also has a wonderful shopping list button and if you want to share your latest recipe with your friends you can email it.

Answers to "Why is My Computer So Slow?"
Posted on May 25th, 2010 No commentsMike Darwin asked:
This is a question that almost every PC owner asks themselves after just a few months of purchasing their PCs. This can also be a hassle, especially for those who surf the Net. Unfortunately, very few know what the answer to this question is.
There are a number of reasons why a PC could run slow. Some of these would be hardware problems, like memory or processor issues, insufficient memory installed, or a fragmented drive. However, in many cases, the reason why is the existence of spyware. What makes this alarming is that a study predicted that at some point in time, more than 90% of Internet users and PC owners will be infected by spyware.
How will PC owners know if their computer systems are infected by spyware? What can they do to remove these? Various antispyware software programs online can be easily downloaded. Since downloads come with scanning features, then PC owners can go ahead and have all the files in their system scanned. If spyware is detected, then it can be removed. Generally, it would not take more than 5 minutes to download and install an anti-spyware application. Make sure, however, to choose one with a database of spyware definitions that are always updated. This way, the program would still be able to detect and remove even new versions of spyware programs.
Experts also recommend that PC owners make it a habit to have all their computer files scanned regularly. Computer scans typically last within 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the number of files stored in the PC memory. Scan results are then displayed revealing different types of information, including the number of spyware infections detected, the type of spyware infection, and the degree of severity of the infections.
Nevertheless, it is important to ensure that the anti-spyware program people will get is reliable. Only get the full version of the software if the reliability of the program has already been assured. By doing this, PC owners will no longer ask themselves the question, “Why is my computer so slow?”

Why does my laptop have tablet pc settings?
Posted on May 24th, 2010 2 commentsMai, K. asked:
I have a Gateway M-1625 Notebook that my parents bought me last year. I was just changing the settings for my personal use, and while doing that I found a whole bunch of settings for a tablet pc. I was wondering why those settings are there. Does every laptop have the same settings, even though it’s not a tablet pc? If not, is there a way my laptop could be able to have touch screen capabilities (a special digitizer pen or something like that)? Thanks in advance!

Computer Sales
Posted on May 22nd, 2010 No commentsKen Marlborough asked:
Computer sales are on the rise. Research has shown that in the United States in 2005, personal computer sales rose 35%, and revenue increased 11%. This is compared to Thanksgiving 2004, when PC’s sales increased only 7 % and revenue actually decreased by 3%. Notebook and desktop computers were the most impressive sellers during Thanksgiving week due to strong “Black Friday sales,” according to Current Analysis. Black Friday sales occur on the day following Thanksgiving. Several manufacturers of computers benefited during this time including HP, Gateway and Toshiba. Windows and Apple computers made a respectable showing as well. The most popular computer sold in this time period was the Notebook. It led the way in sales, overselling desktops computer by 4%. Still, desktop computer rose 23% year-over- year compared to 2004.
s far programs and service goes, there is more home and entertainment software available for Windows computers than for Macs. However, Macs repeatedly score at or near the top in tech support and reliability. In fact, statistics show that Apple is rated more than 20 points ahead of all the other computer manufacturers for technical support.
Whether to by a PC or a MAC is a big question asked by many. Just keep in mind that PCs use Widows OS and are built by numerous brands including Gateway, Dell, Acer, Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, etc. Macintosh computers are in a class by themselves. The myth that MACs crash more than PC is unfounded because of those name brands that manufacturer PCs, several have been known to crash. Others did prove to be invincible – the key is there is more than one manufacturer.
As far as programs go, MACs do run fewer programs than PCs, but you can put Microsoft Windows on MAC computers and run them.
