HP TouchSmart Tm2 Multi-Touch Tablet PC with Windows 7 – Australian Review
Posted on November 10th, 2010 25 commentsoztabletpc asked:
The HP TouchSmart Tm2 is a huge leap in performance, finish and quality for the long running TouchSmart multi-touch Tablet PC series. The TouchSmart Tm2 now boasts a sleek new design and features a Wacom Active Digitizer pen and Multi-Touch Screen, dedicated ATI graphics, Intel Core 2 Duo processor and a 4 – 5 hour standard battery life. Tablet PCs like the Tm2 are much more than just consumption devices. The active digitizer pen allows you to enter data in your own handwriting at up to 40 wpm, take notes on digital paper and sketch and draw with pressure sensitivity. Coupled with Microsoft Office, you can draw on word documents, emails and powerpoint presentations. You can also read e-Books, web pages and pdf documents using the multi-touch functionality of Windows 7. As a Tablet PC the Tm2 functions extremely well and we recommend that it should be highly considered for students and home users. It can easily replace your current laptop or desktop.

@TheJacobiphone12405 yes it does. unlike the ipad. ipad is a fail. but this over the ipad, it doubles as a pc and a tablet where as the ipad is only a tablet and it doesnt even support flash which makes it useless for web browsing, which is what it was created for. get this.

@tannmann3521v2 Understand, someone pointed that out to me below. It’s small and tucked away on the side of the screen.

@cutecavity yes, it has the fingerprint reader

@cutecavity Actually, it does have a fingerprint reader, it’s just hidden very well. It’s on the right edge of the screen toward the top. It’s just a small, slightly recessed slit with no bezel around it. It can be seen @ 5:55, right above the multi-card reader.

is this like the hp tx2000 where you could take a picture by just pressing a button on the side of the screen?? Are you able to take pictures at all??? (I ask because I’ve seen many reviews and people haven’t talked about it…that and my previous laptop didn’t let me take pictures with the webcam so I just wanna make sure. C=…thanks)

Did they fix the heat issues?! Really?!
Who else bought an hp an had it overheat and blackscreen?!!?!?!?
DOES IT DIE JUST AFTER THE WARRANTY?
WILL THERE BE ANOTHER CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST HP FOR THEIR CRAP?!!!!!!
sigh…
so yeah, who else was dissatisfied with hp? -

@cutecavity Don’t think it has a fingerprint reader from memory. Go for the Fujitsu TH700 if one is required.
-
cutecavity December 3rd, 2010 at 10:53
Does the tm2 model still have the fingerprint reader or has that been lost?
-

@Elementeyas Think of it as a laptop + active digitiser pen + multi touch… It runs full windows 7. It can easily replace a laptop.

Elementeyas December 6th, 2010 at 19:25
Can it be used as A Normal laptop or are the many significant Differences other than being TOUCH
